Kelly Watson Woelffer
Kelly grew up in a musical family, began the violin at age 5 and then fell in love with the flute at age 10. She majored in Flute Performance at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and then went on to get an Artist’s Diploma in Jazz Performance and Composition from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Kelly began her Suzuki Teacher Training in 2004 and since then has registered training for Every Child Can and Flute Books 1, 2, 4 & 5 through the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Kelly has also served as a Guest Teacher at the Colorado Suzuki Institute, the Boston Suzuki Institute and the International School of Stuttgart.
Kelly firmly believes in the potential in each of her students and finds great reward in teaching. She believes in individualizing for each learning style and helping each of her students reach their own greatest potential. Kelly is dedicated to providing a positive environment for students to learn, grow, develop their character, express themselves through music and most importantly, have fun & enjoy themselves while doing so!
In addition to teaching, Kelly also performs both solo classical flute and her own compositions with her ensemble at creative music venues in Berlin and New York City. Kelly has two albums released of her own original music, she recently soloed as guest artist and composer with the Mid-Texas Symphony and records, writes and performs in various settings and venues.
